  1. Bring the water and granulated sugar to a boil for 30 seconds in a small saucepan. Allow to cool and reserve.
  2. Place the almonds in a food processor and process to a powder. Mix in 5 1/3 ounces of powder sugar.
  3. With the machine running, gradually add the reserved sugar water and mix until a paste is formed.
  4. In a mixing bowl fitted with the hook attachment, mix the paste with the corn syrup at low speed until combined.
  5. Add 1 pounds sifted powdered sugar a little at a time, scraping down the sides of the bowl as necessary until a smooth dough has formed. Store in an airtight container.
